It is mostly underground so as to not obstruct the natural light for surrounding buildings. Today, the Duchess Theatre is known for having limited run productions, as well as playing host to touring shows, providing an intimate environment for an audience of 475. The Theatre is over 80 years old and still has the original iron grid and hardwood stage. The circle is suspended from the roof, and is level with the street, giving the audience unobstructed views.

About The Play That Goes Wrong

Everything goes right in one of the West End’s funniest shows. A slapstick powerhouse, The Play That Goes Wrong focuses on the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s attempts to mount a successful period-set murder mystery, and the disastrous sequence of events that befalls the accident-prone cast, who nobly struggle to make it to the final curtain at all costs.
